Lincoln Nautilus: Collision Warning and Collision Avoidance System / Collision Warning and Collision Avoidance System - Overview. Description and Operation
Overview
The
forward collision warning system alerts the driver of a collision risk
by illuminating the red warning indicator located in the IPC information
center. The IPC sends a request to the ACM to sound an audible warning
chime.
Forward Collision Warning System
The forward collision warning system works in conjunction with the
ACC system. During a possible collision event, the CCM commands:
-
the IPC to activate the red warning indicator in the information center.
-
the IPC to activate the chime message.
-
the ACM to mute audio volume and signal the chime.
