Overview

The forward collision warning system alerts the driver of a collision risk by illuminating the red warning indicator located in the IPC information center. The IPC sends a request to the ACM to sound an audible warning chime.

Forward Collision Warning System

The forward collision warning system works in conjunction with the ACC system. During a possible collision event, the CCM commands:

  • the IPC to activate the red warning indicator in the information center.
  • the IPC to activate the chime message.
  • the ACM to mute audio volume and signal the chime.
