Lincoln Nautilus: Rear Drive Axle/Differential / Rear Drive Unit (RDU) Actuator Motor. Removal and Installation
Removal

Remove the rear axle assembly.
Refer to: Axle Assembly (205-02A)

NOTICE:
The RDU contains axle fluid. To prevent spillage, do not tilt the RDU during actuator motor removal or installation.
NOTE:
Mark the installation orientation prior to removal with a marker.
Remove and discard the bolts. Remove the actuator motor.
Installation
-
Make sure that the idler gear and spline teeth are aligned before tightening the bolts.

NOTICE:
Make sure new bolts are used.
NOTE:
The RDU bolts must be started by hand prior to tightening.
Install the bolts and the actuator motor.
Torque:
133 lb.in (15 Nm)

Install the rear axle assembly.
