Lincoln Nautilus: Roof Opening Panel / Roof Opening Panel Motor. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Place the roof opening panel glass in the fully CLOSE position.
   

1. Place the roof opening panel shield to the fully OPEN position.
   

1. Lower the headliner.
   Refer to: Headliner - Lowering (501-05) .
   

Roof Opening Panel Motor - Glass

1. NOTE: A new roof opening panel glass motor only moves toward the vent position until initialized.

   
   Remove the roof opening panel glass motor.
   
   1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
      
   2. Remove the retainers and the roof opening glass motor.
      Torque: 34 lb.in (3.8 Nm)

Roof Opening Panel Motor - Shield

1. NOTE: A new roof opening panel shield motor only moves toward the closed position until initialized.

   
   Remove the roof opening panel shield motor.
   
   1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
      
   2. Remove the retainers and the roof opening panel shield motor.
      Torque: 34 lb.in (3.8 Nm)

Installation

1. NOTE: When installing the roof opening panel motor, it may be necessary to turn the roof opening panel motor slightly to engage the drive splines.

   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   

1. Carry out the power roof opening panel initialization.
   Refer to: Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization (501-17 Roof Opening Panel, General Procedures).
