Removal

Remove the rear bumper cover.
Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover (501-19)

Vehicles without trailer tow
-
Remove the rear bumper.
-
Remove the bolts from the back side of the rear bumper mounts.
Torque:
22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
-
With the help of an assistant, remove the rear bumper bolts.
Torque:
22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
Vehicles equipped with trailer tow
-
On both sides.
Remove the rear bumper to frame rail bolts.
Torque:
103 lb.ft (140 Nm)
-
Remove the rear bumper.
-
Remove the rear bumper bolts.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
-
With the help of an assistant, slide the rear bumper out from the frame rails.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
